Type the hours, the hourly rate and the miles for an off-duty job, extra duty detail or side job. You get the gross pay and the drive valued at the IRS standard mileage rate for the date of the job.
This is arithmetic for record keeping, not tax advice. Which drive counts, if any, is a tax question. Ask a tax professional which applies to you.
IRS standard mileage rates used here: 72.5 cents a mile for January 1 to June 30, 2026, 76 cents for July 1 to December 31, 2026, 70 cents for 2025 and 67 cents for 2024. The mileage figure is a record of the drive at that rate. It is not added to or taken from your pay.
No estimates and no tax rules are applied. You choose every input.
Hours multiplied by the hourly rate. Nothing is withheld or deducted.
The miles counted (none, one way, or the round trip) multiplied by the IRS standard mileage rate in force on the job date.
Shown only if you type a percentage. It is that percentage of the gross pay, at the rate you chose.
Centurion Blue logs each off-duty job with its pay, and on 1099 jobs it measures the drive and values it at the IRS rate in force that day, using the mileage rule you pick in Settings. Your jobs, expenses and receipts roll up into Year End Tax Reports you can hand to your tax preparer.
Denver officers get the free Primary plan with no card. Job logging, mileage and the tax reports are part of Premium, which has one 30-day free trial that starts when you choose. At every other department the 30-day free trial starts at registration, then it is $59.99 per year or $7.99 per month.
